Silk screening involves several steps. First, a design is created and separated into the different component colors. Then each different color separation is transferred to a light sensitive film during the exposure process. This film is used on a silk screen in order to make a print on the desired material.
Due to the processes involved in creating a screen for printing, the set-up costs can be a moderate investment. However, once a screen is created, it can be used over and over again to create prints, thus making silk screening very economical for large quantity production work.
For short production runs, we recommend one of our custom heat transfers.
